For Nebraska baseball's alumni weekend, over 130 former players made their way to a ballpark most of them never played in.

Some, like 1950s Husker baseball alum Al Karle, never even played at Buck Beltzer Field. Even with all the changes to the team, park and program over the years, Karle still feels like a big part of the Husker baseball family.

Being the 1958 team MVP has that sort of lasting impact, after all.

The military veteran and former Husker star was honored in front of more than 30 family members, and for Karle, this meant more than just running out to his old position at second base.
