Nebraska students recognized at Capitol for their high ACT, SAT scores
For an annual ceremony at the state capitol, Nebraska students were recognized by Governor Ricketts and Nebraska Department of Education for their perfect ACT or SAT scores.
This event was filled with proud parents and supporters of the Nebraska students. 44 students were commended from all around Nebraska, with 13 from Lincoln, 8 from Lincoln East in particular.
A student from Elkhorn South High School said all the work and preparation that went in to the exam was well worth it.
"I would take practice tests and try to take them in the amount of time necessary and try to review on how I was doing and then continue to work on that," said Theodore Gernhart.
Governor Ricketts was delighted to meet all the high achievers and wished them well for their future to come.
"We want them to continue to do well and when they are looking at their careers we want them here in Nebraska, we want them to come back if they choose to do an education someplace else or start a job someplace we want them back here in Nebraska ," said Ricketts.
Students from Pius and Lincoln High were also honored.
