1 of 2 teens suspected of assaulting, running over Lincoln woman caught, police say
Lincoln Police say one of two juveniles suspected of assaulting and running over a woman in a north Lincoln neighborhood has been caught.
Emergency crews were called to a home near N 60th and and Saint Paul Avenue, about a block west of Northeast High School, around 10 a.m. Tuesday on reports of a possible robbery.
Authorities say the 60-year-old woman saw a vehicle driving recklessly through the neighborhood. When the woman yelled at the vehicle to slow down, two juvenile males got out and confronted her. The victim reported being punched and that one of the juveniles pointed a gun at her and threatened her.
As the suspects left, the woman was run over by their vehicle, police said. She was taken to the hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening, police said.
LPD said the 17-year-old juvenile, whose name is not being released at this time, will be referred to the County Attorney's office. Police are still searching for the other juvenile.
LPS confirmed Northeast was placed on lockout mode for a brief time as the situation unfolded. The lockout has since been lifted.
Police are continuing to investigate.
