Lincoln Police arrested a man on a number of charges after officers were dispatched to a domestic assault call Tuesday night.

Officers arrived near 14th and E Street around 10:30 p.m. and were aware the suspect they were looking for, identified as Markel Towner, 26, had two arrest warrants.

Officers found a man who looked like Towner in a parked vehicle outside the home they were dispatched to. Towner gave a false name, despite wearing a lanyard around his neck that had his name and photo on it, police said.

When officers went to arrest Towner, he resisted and claimed he didn't do anything wrong, police said.

Towner was ultimately arrested for resisting arrest, obstructing a government operation, false reporting, child neglect and third-degree domestic assault.
