Lincoln police say an area man was arrested for possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person on Saturday.

LPD reports that on June 8th at approximately 8:30pm, LPD officers responded to the 600 block of South 27th Street on a report of people arguing.

Upon arrival, officers contacted 38-year-old Jeremy L. Hayes.

As officers were speaking with Hayes, he attempted to discretely discard an 11 inch knife (5 inch blade) bearing a knuckle guard.

Officers discovered the knife on the ground behind Hayes and cited and lodged him for Possession of a Deadly Weapon by a Prohibited Person, a felony charge, and Carrying a Concealed Weapon, a misdemeanor charge.
