Lincoln Police warn against leaving garage doors open as burglaries spike
On July 1st, Lincoln Police responded to a residential burglary at a home near 19th and Gunnison Dr.
The victim reported his garage door was left open and someone got into his vehicle and stole $45 cash, a laptop computer, and fishing poles. The total loss was valued at $500.
There have been 6 residential burglaries from homes with open garage doors this week of July 1, and 16 reported to LPD since June 1st.
Lincoln Police wants to remind citizens to shut their garage door before bed and while doing yard work when they are out of sight of the garage.
