Lincoln Mayor's Office releases final firearm safe storage report
The Lincoln Mayor's Office Child Access To Firearms/Safe Storage Task Force has released its final report.
The most recent data says that 46 percent of gun owners report storing their firearms in a safe manner across the United States, according to the American Journal on Public Health.
The study recommend four courses of action:
Legislation, to improve gun safety and access to guns, when it comes to young children.
Enforcement of current laws and prevention.
Teaching the importance of gun safety to children, and even adults.
It also involves forming community partnerships, to get the message out about safety.
