CHI Health is adding to their women's health care in Lincoln. The newest addition is called The Physician Network Women's Health and will see their first patients on Wednesday.

The clinic, located at 70th and A Streets, aims to bring more woman care to Lincoln and the surrounding area. Something experts believe is important in a growing community like Lincoln.

One of the two physicians that will lead the practice says the opportunity for women to have these resources is very important.

"I think women really want options when it comes to their health, we are another option in Lincoln and we are really excited to be taking care of the women of Lincoln and surrounding areas," said Kate Klayum.

The OBGYN clinic has been through nearly a year of preparation with Dr. Klayum and Dr. Tara Baum anxious for their first patients.

Dr. Baum spent part of her high school years shadowing a doctor and knew then she was in for the long haul.

"I decided to be an OBGYN when I saw my first delivery. I actually was shadowing a physician while I was in high school and from that point on I knew this is what I wanted to do," said Baum.

The office offers a wide variety of services including:

  • Routine physical exams and pap smears
  • Family planning and infertility diagnosis/therapy
  • Routine and high-risk pregnancy care and counseling
  • Diagnostic services such as laboratory, ultrasound, prenatal testing and non-stress testing
  • Teen gynecological care
  • Menstrual disorder diagnosis and treatment
  • Breast health
  • Menopause management

The clinic offers services to those of all ages and wants people to stop by or contact them if they have any questions.

CHI Health has a variety of women health care clinics and this opening is one they hope will help the community and the growing need of care.
