Friends and family left waiting for answers as police investigate Lincoln man's 'suspicious' death
Lincoln police are investigating what they're calling a suspicious death, after a man who reported an assault last week died days later.
Police said Johnathan Olson, 44, died Wednesday. Olson had reported being assaulted on Oct. 11, but provided few details about the incident, a police spokeswoman said.
The reported assault took place at a home near 49th and Fremont Street.
An autopsy has been scheduled. Police said there are no suspects at this time.
Family described Olson as a "free spirit," and say they're heartbroken as they await answers to the many questions surrounding his death. Olson's adoptive brother told Channel 8 Eyewitness News Olson had recently undergone heart surgery.
Anyone with information is urged to call Lincoln police.
