Seniors Sinclaire Miramontez and Brenna Ochoa each received second-team All-Big Ten recognition when the conference announced its postseason soccer honors on Thursday.

Miramontez earned All-Big Ten accolades for the third consecutive season after garnering first-team pundits in 2017 and 2018. In addition, the senior from Lenexa, Kan., made the Big Ten All-Freshman Team in 2016.

Before the 2019 campaign, Miramontez earned a spot on the MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List, given annually to the top collegiate soccer player. She is also a two-time All-Region selection, receiving first-team status in 2018 after making the second team in 2017. This season, Miramontez started all 18 games, amassed 1,658 minutes and scored two goals. During her four-year career at Nebraska, she started 76 games and scored five goals while tallying one assist.

Ochoa started all 18 games in 2019, amassing 1,660 minutes, and recorded one goal and one assist for the Big Red. In addition to receiving second-team honors from the Big Ten, Ochoa also earned Nebraska’s Sportsmanship Award for 2019. During her four-year career, the Omaha, Neb., native started 69 of her 78 appearances and scored four goals, while adding 15 assists.

The Nebraska soccer program increases its all-conference total to 98 selections, including 28 honorees since joining the Big Ten in 2011.

The Huskers finished the 2019 season with an overall record of 4-10-4 and tied for eighth in the Big Ten with a 3-6-2 mark in conference play. NU fell short of qualifying for the eight-team Big Ten Tournament due to the tiebreaker used to determine the No. 8 seed.
