Authorities said a 15-year-old was placed in custody after investigators determined he had attempted to rob a 12-year-old boy of his shoes.

The victim reported walking near NW 7th and Chadderton Dr. around 3:15 p.m. Monday when the teen pulled up next to him in a vehicle, pointed a gun at him and demanded his shoes.

The incident was captured on surveillance video, and officers located the 15-year-old at home Wednesday evening. Police said he admitted to being involved.

The teen was referred to the Lancaster County Attorney's office for attempted robbery, use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony, and possession of a stolen firearm.

Police said the gun used had been taken from an unlocked vehicle last week.
