Local jeweler holds competition for $5,000 engagement ring
Today at Gateway Mall, local Lovette Jewelers held a competition, requiring a lot of commitment, for a $5,000 wedding ring.
"I think we all have boyfriends that we are ready to commit to and we are ready to win that ring," competitor Katie Goesch said.
"Just ready to finally be committed," competitor Mindi Koss said.
"I think I've been with my boyfriend for 6 years so I'm ready for that ring," competitor Nichole Campbell said.
These brides–to–be submitted an essay explaining why they are in love and why they want to compete for the ring.
On the day of the challenge, the last 3 contestants had to keep one hand on a wedding dress the entire day, while completing other tasks such as eating half of a wedding cake top.
"They're ready to get married, they're here for love, they're here to find their ring and hopefully this is it. One of the lucky ladies is going to win it today. They are ready to be here as long as it takes to get the ring," Lovette Jewelers sales associate, Allison Larson said.
The owner of Lovette Jewelers says the idea came together when they wanted to incorporate other local businesses in their competition.
Mindi Koss won the competition before 8 Saturday night.
