The goal of any transportation system is connectablity. At least that's what one Lincoln resident said in the Nebraska Department of Transportation's (DOT) meeting on establishing a busing system between Lincoln and Omaha.

The team in charge of this project is looking for public input on what possible route would benefit the most citizens.

They found there are about 23,000 commuters traveling between the two cities and wanted to provide a different option of transportation.

Setting up this bus route is estimated to cost three million dollars, but for the thousands of commuters, it could make a huge impact.

Nebraska DOT said this study should be completed by Spring of 2020, where they will decide whether of not to move forward with this idea.

There will be more meetings about this bus route, for more information visit nebraskatransit.com.
