City of Lincoln treating streets as freezing drizzle falls
20 City of Lincoln crews have been out since 9 p.m, Thursday to apply granular salt pre-wet with anti-ice brine to bridges and overpasses.
They'll also be treating arterial streets and bus routes.
Crews reported overnight, that street were wet with near freezing conditions.
Officials are urging drivers to be extremely cautious during their commutes tonight and Friday morning.
They say black ice, especially on bridges and untreated streets and sidewalks are of particular concern.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory, that's in effect until 9 a.m. Friday.
Freezing drizzle is expected.
