Husker spirit was in full force today as nearly 2,000 people gathered together to help break a world record. Former husker player, Ndamukong Suh, asked fans to help break a previous world record for tweet–up.
A tweet up is when a specific tweet brings people together to the same place at the same time. The former record was set at eleven hundred people…one husker nation may be able to beat.
However, for husker fans like Chris Peters, the pull to come wasn't to break the record, but to see the man himself. “He's awesome on the football field and second of all, you know you read about all his charity stuff that he does in Detroit and around Lincoln and stuff. He's just an awesome guy all around, Peters says.”
Suh says “For me, it was a blast. For me it was more of an experience to move from the twitter face, but still using it to bring fans, in person, to interact and have fun.”
Suh entertained the crowd by throwing t–shirts and participating in a question and answer session via twitter. It will take a couple of days to officially tally the people.
