Weather permitting, Constructors, Inc., of Lincoln, Nebraska, plans to close the intersections of 40th Street, 48th Street and 56th Street and Highway 2 in all directions, and have northbound and southbound lane restrictions at 33rd Street and Highway 2 on Tuesday, July 26, Wednesday, July 27, and Thursday, July 28, at 7:00 p.m.  The intersections will be closed until 6:00 a.m. the following morning, according to the Nebraska Department of Roads.

The closures are to allow for the placement of asphalt and permanent pavement markings in the area of the intersections.  All other intersections will remain open.  Eastbound and westbound  Highway 2 will be closed from 27th Street to Old Cheney Rd. from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.  Traffic will be detoured around the closures via Pioneers Blvd. for traffic north of N-2 and Old Cheney Road for traffic south of Highway 2.

The Department of Roads’ project manager is Brian Schoen of Lincoln.  Motorists are asked to watch for detour signage and, as always, drive safely through construction zones.
