The State Of Nebraska Ordered To Pay Money In Nuclear Waste Lawsuit

A long time court battle against the state of Nebraska has finally been settled. Nebraska has agreed to pay 141-million dollars for blocking efforts to build a nuclear waste dump within it's borders. Also under the settlement, Nebraska will not be obligated to host a dump. This comes after a court ordered Nebraska to pay 151-million dollars to the compact, which also includes Kansas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Arkansas. Before today's settlement, officials in Nebraska also offered Texas 30-million dollars to store the nuclear waste there.
