Thousands Of Nebraskans Are Losing Health Coverage

A newly released study says 220 Nebraskans are losing access to health care coverage every week. Families USA released the report Wednesday.

It says the rising cost of health care premiums _ estimated by the group to have risen 119 percent from 1999 to 2008 _ is behind the trend.

The national health care advocacy group says that by December 2010, an estimated 33,630 people will have lost their health coverage.

Families USA Executive Director Ron Pollack says the study shows that health care costs are out of control and urged Congress to pass health reform legislation.
