Threat to Lincoln Schools not credible

Press Release from Lincoln Public Schools
"I want to bring to your attention – so that you can help inform others – about a screenshot of a threat that is traveling through social media. The message indicates a threat to "Lincoln Students."
This post has recently appeared in another state (and probably started in another state), also with a city called Lincoln, and perhaps has appeared or will appear in our namesake cities around the country.
We believe this threat, that does not name a specific school, or even have a specific day with it, is not local to our city nor a credible threat to our schools.
However, we have taken time to look further into the post.
As the use of social media for posting threats against schools seems to be increasing, we are asking all parents to talk to their children about using social media and instruct them that if they see anything on social media that is a concern, to immediately report it to an adult, such as a parent, principal or teacher.
If they re-post or pass on the threat, they can also be held responsible for issuing a threat and can receive disciplinary action as a result.
Safety is a priority and we will continue to work with our law enforcement partners to provide a safe environment for our students and staff."
