Tornado & High Winds Hit Eastern Nebraska

The National Weather Service has confirmed a tornado in the Gretna area, which is along Interstate 80 about 14 miles southwest of Omaha.

The service says it was spotted about 5:20 p.m. Monday. It was not immediately known whether it caused any damage.

The storm system was moving northeast toward Omaha, and there were several reports of tornadoes touching between Lincoln and Omaha, but they could not be immediately confirmed.

The weather service had posted a tornado watch that covered central and northeastern portions of the state.

Earlier in the day, the weather service reported two tornadoes briefly touched down in north-central Nebraska.

Channel 8 has received damage reports from near 110th and Martell, some farm buildings were damaged.

14505 Panama Road and 10250 Martell, homes were damaged.

1/4 mile south of 148th and Highway 2 a home was damaged.

And 129th and Olive Creek- a Machine Shed was damaged.
