Tornados Reported In Southern Nebraska, Hallam Hit Hard

Governor Mike Johanns says the heaviest damage from Saturday night's severe storms appears to be in Hallam in southern Lancaster County. County Sheriff Terry Wagner says there has been extensive damage in the area to houses and trees.

He says residents are being taking by bus to Southwest High School in Lincoln. Authorities say that Norris High School near Firth sustained heavy damage. The roof to the auditorium was reportedly gone and the walls sustained damage. Some areas reported four to six inches of rain and widespread flash flooding.
