Troops From Nebraska Head To New Orleans

The relief effort for hurricane victims is coming from everywhere, including Nebraska. An announcement was made by governor Dave Heineman at a press conference the forty-five memebers of the Nebraska National Guard military police are being sent to Louisiana to help with security. Members of the Nebraska Air National guard will also help out by delivering 66,000 meals to storm victims. While the Nebraska National Guard has been called out to other disasters, Governor Heineman is calling this one of the worst they've ever taken part in. Everyday the Federal Emergency Management Agency is coordinating with all of the states. It could be anywhere from two to six weeks before they return home. However, Heineman says they will stay there as long as security is needed.
