It is a sad day for one local family after two of their dogs die in a fire.

It happened  around 3 p.m. Friday.
Lincoln fire and rescue arrived to a home located near 10th and Superior close to Goodrich Middle School.
A neighbor says the family was away from the home at the time, but when they arrived they were met with smoke.
She says it was billowing from the  front door and the family was distraught.

LFR says the fire was put out fast.
They’re  still investigating cause, but they believe it started downstairs in the utility  room.
There are no damage estimates at this time.
Officials say the family will most likely to have to relocate tonight because of the smoke damage.
Again, the family did lose two dogs in the fire.

A house fire at 4322 N. 11th Street in Lincoln has claimed the lives of two dogs.   Fire officials said the family wasn’t inside of the home when it broke out and no injuries were reported.  The fire broke out around 3:15 p.m. Friday afternoon and fire officials believe the fire started in a utility room.
