Two Lincoln Teens Killed In Motorcycle Crash

It happened Friday night. The two teens were riding through a Southeast Lincoln neighborhood when police say they lost control of the motorcycle and slammed into a home. An entire family was inside the home when the motorcycle slammed into their garage. They weren't hurt. But they say as soon as they heard the crash, they knew something terrible had happened. The damage to the home near the corner of Beaver Creeklane and Birch Hollow Drive was estimated at least 10-thousand-dollars. It shows the extreme force with which the motorcycle hit the garage. Riding on the motorcycle 19-year-old Brian Bell, who was attending Southeast Community College, and 19-year-old Jason Ahlstedt, a graduate of Southeast High School. Jason Ahlstedt was pronounced dead at the hospital. Brian Bell had died at the scene. The owners of the home, who declined to go on camera, tell Channel 8 Eyewitness News they ran outside as soon as they heard the crash. They say the scene they found was gruesome, and that there was clearly nothing they could do for the teens. Neighbors say the crash could be heard for blocks. Both witnesses and police say the motorcycle was going very fast when it crashed, and that neither rider was wearing a helmet.
