Two Men Arrested In Connection With Early Morning Shooting

At least one man is behind bars, arrested on charges of attempted first degree murder. It happened during an attempted robbery Wednesday morning at the taco bell on north 27th street. Lincoln police say a man shot two employees after he demanded money. Those two people remain hospitalized tonight. Lincoln police say 18 year old Clifton Bridges forced them back inside the restaraunt and demanded money. When they told him they couldn't open the safe, Jimmy Mathiesen was shot in the mouth, and his wife Christina was shot in the arm. Bridges has been arrested on two counts of attempted first degree murder as well as robbery. Jimmy and Christina have both undergone surgery, and their injuries aren't considered life threatening.  Late this afternoon Lincoln police arrested 17 year old Benjamin Clawson for robbery. This type of robbery, where someone is actually shot is very rare in Lincoln. Police say this is only the second time it's happened in about 30 years.
