Two More NE Cities Will Allow Concealed Guns

City councils in Beatrice and Norfolk have voted down local bans and will let people with state-issued permits carry concealed guns in their cities.

The changes mean that only about a half-dozen cities still bar concealed weapons.

A bill before the Legislature would require all Nebraska cities to follow a state law passed in 2006 and allow the carrying of concealed handguns.

Lawmakers are considering an amendment that would prohibit more people from getting the permits, but the senators did not vote on the measure Tuesday.
