Union supporters to rally at Nebraska capital

Nebraskans are expected to rally at the state capitol to protest efforts to weaken union rights. Liberal advocacy group MoveOn.org is organizing rallies across the country this weekend in support of Wisconsin workers protesting their governor's proposal to eliminate union rights.

The Nebraska rally is scheduled to noon Saturday. Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker's bill would require government workers to contribute more to their health care and pension costs. It would also largely eliminate their collective bargaining rights.

The proposal has spawned massive protests in Madison. Several bills have been introduced in the Nebraska Legislature this session that address collection bargaining and would limit the state's Commission on Industrial Relations, which handles labor disputes.
