UNL Soccer Player Shot, Killed Sunday

It was Sunday night that University of Nebraska soccer player Jenna Cooper died after being shot at a party early Sunday morning. Police now believe they know what led up to the shooting.

Flowers now sit outside the Lincoln home where the incident took place. Monday, police detailed what happened before the shot went off. Lincoln Police Chief Tom Casady says an argument broke out over someone allegedly stealing or attempting to steal some shot glasses from the residence, then a confrontation took place.

Channel 8 Eyewitness News has obtained court documents from the investigation. Witnesses in the report say 22 year old Lucky Iromuanya pulled a small caliber hand gun from his pants and fired one shot. The documents also say Iromuanya told police he wasn't trying to shoot anyone, he just wanted to scare them away. His arraignment is set for Tuesday afternoon, there, he'll learn of the charges against him.
