Update: 3 men arrested in Lincoln morning fire
Lincoln police have arrested three men in connection with a Tuesday morning fire in northeast Lincoln.
At around 9 a.m., Lincoln Fire & Rescue were called to a fire at 2903 N. 44th St. Lincoln Police say a neighbor witnessed a man leaving the home carrying a gas can. The neighbor also saw flames coming from the duplex.
Police say the woman living there was able to escape through a laundry room window. Lincoln Fire & Rescue quickly contained the fire, which caused extensive damage.
Through interviews, Lincoln Police Department investigators determined that three men had been visiting the 30-year old female resident. Police say after several hours of methamphetamine use, a drug induced argument arose. Police say the men left and returned with a can of gasoline to set a fire inside the home.
All three men were arrested for 1st degree arson, a Class II Felony. The men, 30-year old Christopher Keith, 24-year old Tyler McCarty, and 30-year old Johnathon Watson are scheduled to appear in court Wednesday afternoon.
