UPDATE: One person jumps after a north Lincoln house fire

Lincoln Fire and Rescue was called to a house fire near 27th and Fletcher Ave before 1 p.m. Friday. 

When the firefighters arrive, they saw smoke coming from a second floor window.
LFR said one resident jumped out of the second floor window and was actually on the ground when crews came.

They are unsure at this time why the person jumped.
Firefighters found the fire in a bedroom and were able to put it out quickly.

They said it was under control in less than 15 minutes and damage was mostly to one bedroom.

The person who jumped was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
LFR said at least one other person was home at the time and residents won’t be able to stay there for a while.

The exact cause has not been determined.

There are no damage estimates at this time.

Lincoln Fire and Rescue is on the scene of a fire near 28th and Fletcher. Scanner reports the fire is in the second story of the home, and that one person jumped out the window to escape the fire.

No word on the injuries or damage.
