U.S. Highway 77 Will Be Temporarily Closed For Construction

United Contractors Inc of Johnston, Iowa, is planning to remove the existing I-80 westbound bridge at the US-77 Interchange (MM405) the week of May 4 th – 8 th .  Both directions of I-80 will remain open during the removal. 

To accommodate the safest removal operation, nighttime closures of Highway 77 will be as follows:

Monday, May 4 th :  Northbound US-77 will be completely closed from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. at I-80.  Southbound US-77 will have an inside lane closure from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.            

Tuesday, May 5 th :  Southbound US-77 will be completely closed from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. at I-80.  Northbound US-77 will have an inside lane closure from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.            

Wednesday, May 6 th :  Southbound US-77 will be completely closed from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. at I-80.  Northbound US-77 will have an inside lane closure from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.  

hursday, May 7 th : Northbound US-77 will be completely closed from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. at I-80.  Southbound US-77 will have an inside lane closure from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.      

Access to I-80 from US-77 will remain open and the following detour routes will be used: Northbound Hwy. 77 will detour east on I-80 to the Waverly Interchange (Exit 409) and then back west to Exit 405.  Southbound Hwy. 77 will detour west on I-80 to 27 th St (Exit 403) and then back east to Exit 405.    

Closures are subject to inclement weather and will be pushed back as necessary.
