UT’s Taylor To Transfer

AUSTIN, Texas Defending champion Texas is losing one of its most versatile performers.

Ramonce Taylor, who scored 15 touchdowns last season while playing running back and wide receiver, says he plans to transfer.

He gave no indication as to where he might be headed.

Taylor scored a T-D in the Longhorns' win over Southern California in last season's national championship game. But he missed spring practice because of academic problems and in May was arrested on a marijuana possession charge.

Despite his departure, Texas still has solid depth at running back. Jamaal Charles rushed for 878 yards and eleven touchdowns last season as a freshman, and Selvin Young and Henry Melton combined for 893 yards and 18 T-D's.
