Vice President Arrives in Lincoln

Vice President Dick Cheney arrived back home in the Capitol City Thursday night just after 8 o'clock. He was greeted at Lincoln Municipal Airport by Republican first congressional district candidate Jeff Fortenberry.

The Vice President will attend a private fundraiser for Fortenberry at the Embassy Suites Friday morning. Those who attend will get a chance to get a picture with Cheney, for a price tag of 2-thousand dollars. After that Cheney will be the guest speaker at the fundraising breakfast, where three hundred people are paying $250 a plate to attend.

Lincoln Police want to let the public know that several streets and a few parking garages in downtown Lincoln will be temporarily closed Friday for Cheney's visit. Police will be on hand to direct traffic and they advise commuters to leave a little bit earlier for work.

The Vice President and his wife are expected to leave the Capitol City late Friday morning. Traffic and parking should be back to normal for the evening commute.
