Voluntary Water Restriction Information

Voluntary water restrictions started April 1st in Lincoln.  Mayor Don Wesely is asking citizens to voluntarily conserve water so mandatory restrictions don't have to be implemented.

The voluntary water restrictions work like this:  If your address ends with the numbers 0-2-4-6-8, you are asked to water on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.  If you address ends with the numbers 1-3-5-7-9, you are asked to water on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

You are encouraged to water on the cool parts of the day and aviod windy days.  You are also asked to water the lawn only and not the sidewalks or streets.  Be sure to broom off your driveways and don't use a hose.  Wash your car with a soapy pale of water and don't run the hose constantly.   For more information on outdoor planting, you can visit the city website for a guide to plant wisely.   www.ci.lincoln.ne.us
