Vote Finished On Nine Mile Prairie Powerlines

After months of long debate, the LES Board has come to a decision about proposed powerlines along the western edge of Nine Mile Prairie. The board has voted against that plan. It is a victory for those opposing the powerlines along the western edge of the prairie.. But the route that was chosen doesn't appear to be that much better. In a critial vote the LES Board voted against the proposal to have powerlines run along the western side of nine mile prairie.. Those who were in opposition of the plan said Nine Mile Prairie was preserved land and shouldn't be tarnished by massive powerlines. While the board decided not to place the powerlines near the  prairie,  they chose a second route which could impact part of the southern edge of the prairie..
