Watch party planned for Anderson launch

The public is invited to the Strategic Air and Space Museum to watch a live video feed of Nebraska astronaut Clayton Anderson's launch aboard the space shuttle Discovery next week.

The museum is located off Interstate 80 exit 426, between Omaha and Lincoln. The 51-year-old Anderson and six other NASA astronauts are scheduled to lift off at 5:21 a.m. CDT on April 5 from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

Several members of Anderson's family will watch the launch in person. NASA says the 13-day mission will carry logistics modules filled with science racks to the International Space Station in what will be one of NASA's last missions.

Anderson is scheduled for three space walks. In 2007, Anderson spent five months aboard the space station.
