Some Waverly students are learning more about life 30-years-ago.

Friday, a time capsule was unearthed at Waverly Intermediate School.

The capsule was buried in 1984 by the high school History Club.

Inside, students found old video tapes, pictures, newspapers and even money.

Retired teacher, Jim Norsworthy buried the capsule and marked it to be opened in 2014.

“We were in the maintenance building and I found this old copper plate and scraped the 2-0-1-4 in it and it seemed funny at the time, strange to do that,” says Norsworthy.

There was some water damage.

They plan to air out the items and create a display at the school.

A new capsule is being put into the ground, for another 30 years.
