Who Will Be NU’s Rival in Big 10?

CHICAGO (AP) _ Not too long after Nebraska joined the Big Ten,

Wisconsin coach Brett Bielema approached the league with a request.

How about a Badgers-Huskers game to finish the season? And Iowa

coach Kirk Ferentz says he's hearing from fans interested in the

Big Red team next door.

Nebraska definitely has the league's attention, though the

Huskers won't play football in the Big Ten until next season.

The league is working on two six-team divisions and the

possibilities are enticing. Nebraska and Iowa in the West? Penn

State and Ohio State in the East?

Competitive balance and rivalries will be considered along with

geography, with a nine-game league schedule possibly coming in a

few years.
