Windstream announces job cuts in Lincoln
Windstream announced 34 positions will be cut from its service delivery business in Lincoln. The change will take effect October 1st.
Windstream spokesman David Avery says the changes follow a detailed, nine-month review of the organization. The Lincoln employees affected process sales orders for business customers.
The work will be consolidated into three southern locations. Avery says about 60 jobs will be created at those three sites in North Carolina, Georgia, and South Carolina. The Lincoln employees affected by the cuts can apply for those positions as well as other positions within Windstream.
Windstream will provide severance and outplacement assistance to the affected employees.
The landline phone provider has approximately 285 employees in Lincoln and 375 in Nebraska.
