Wisconsin, Ohio State games will be in prime time

Nebraska's first two conference games as a member of the Big Ten will be played on prime-time television. ESPN and the Big Ten Conference announced seven prime-time games for the upcoming season, including the Huskers' games at Wisconsin on Oct. 1 and against Ohio State in Lincoln on Oct. 8.

Both games are set for 7 p.m. (CT) kickoffs and will be shown  by either ABC, ESPN or ESPN 2. The network carrying the game will be determined at a later date.

All Big Ten home games set to be televised in prime time by ABC, ESPN, ESPN2 or the Big Ten Network will be announced prior to the season.  The Big Ten Network is expected to announce its prime-time game selections in the near future.

Nebraska's trip to Wisconsin for its first-ever Big Ten Conference game will be the first meeting between the Huskers and Badgers since a 1974 game in Madison. Nebraska leads the all-time series 3-2, including a 1-1 record at UW's Camp Randall Stadium.

The Huskers' Big Ten home opener against Ohio State will also kick off at 7 p.m. at Memorial Stadium.

The game will be Ohio State's first-ever trip to Lincoln and just the third all-time meeting between the two college football powers. Ohio State holds a 2-0 edge in the series, winning games in Columbus in 1955 and 1956.

Two other 2011 Nebraska games were previously selected for telecast. The Huskers' regular-season finale against Iowa in Lincoln will be played on Friday, Nov. 25. A game time and television network for the game will be announced at a later date. Nebraska's Sept. 24 non-conference game at Wyoming will be televised nationally by Versus with kickoff at 6:30 p.m. CT (5:30 p.m. local time in Wyoming).
