UPDATE: Woman Who Fell From SUV Has Died

UPDATE: Autumn Hernandez, the woman who fell off of a SUV, has died. She was declared brain dead the day after the accident. 

Police say that her organs were donated on Sunday. Kacie Alatoree, Autumn’s niece, has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident. 

Alatoree will be arraigned on an additional charge of motor vehicle homicide in a court hearing on November 14th.


UPDATE: Kacie Alatoree was charged with leaving the scene of an accident and may serve up to four years for the charge. 

A judge set her bond at $125,000 Thursday afternoon, with the added condition that she can not operate a motor vehicle. 

Hernandez is still in critical condition, and doctors say she will likely die from the injuries. 

If she dies, Lancaster County Attorney Joe Kelly says Alatoree could face more charges. 


Lincoln Police have arrested the driver from the hit and run accident that left a woman in the hospital. 

Kacie Alatoree, 21, was arrested with leaving the scene of a serious injury accident.

Alatoree, who turned herself into Police Wednesday evening, is the niece of Autumn Hernandez 

Autumn Hernandez is in critical condition with life-threatening injuries following the accident.

Doctors told Police that she won’t survive her injuries.

Alatoree is due in court Thursday afternoon. 



The incident happened at 29th and M yesterday evening, a woman was hanging onto a moving vehicle when she fell off and hit her head.

Police say she is in life-threatening condition.   

"Witnesses reported that the 36–year–old woman was clinging onto the vehicle as it accelerated she fell from the vehicle and her head struck the curb, the driver continued and left the scene,” Officer Angela Sands said.

Police tell us witnesses reported the driver and the victim had an argument over the car before it happened. The victim loaned the car to the driver, but now wanted it back.

Sands said the vehicle in question, a red Isuzu Rodeo SUV, was owned by the victim’s boyfriend.

A police report identifies the victim as 36-year-old Autumn Hernandez from Lincoln.

The driver, also from Lincoln, is 21-year-old Kacie Alatoree.

No charges have been made but investigators have contacted Alatoree on the phone, telling her she needs to speak to them.


Lincoln Police are saying the incident Tuesday evening resulting in a woman falling from a vehicle is a hit and run.

Capt. Robert Farber says the woman, who was seen by witnesses clinging to the vehicle, is at Bryan West in critical condition with life-threatening injuries.

Police say they are looking for a red Izuzu Rodeo Hybrid and a 21-year-old driver.

Witnesses say a woman was seen clinging to an SUV before falling off and being taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

"Upon arrival we located a female in the roadway," said Capt. Todd Kocian of the Lincoln Police Dept.

It was a scary sight, as witness say the woman was on the hood of the vehicle before falling off and being critically injured.

It happened, a little before 5 p.m. Tuesday, near the intersection of 29th and M. 

Police are still looking into why she was on the hood in the first place.

"As the vehicle passed through the intersection, she became dislodged from the vehicle– struck the concrete," said Capt. Kocian.

The woman was taken to Bryan West, where she’s said to be in critical, yet stable condition. We have not received and update on her condition.

Police are still investigating the accident, and at this time her identity is not being released. No citations have been issued at this point.
