Woman Home During Attempted Home Burglary
Two Lincoln men remain in custody.
They're accused of trying to break into a home in northwest Lincoln.
Police are still looking for the third suspect.
A strange man came to the door of a home on north 4th street and knocked.
A 26 year-old woman was at home Monday morning about 10 o'clock, but decided not to answer the door.
Later, he and two others came back to burglarize the home.
They went through a gate in the backyard, put on some gloves, and forced open a door into the garage.
But, that's when they heard the woman inside the house and took off running.
A police officer waited for the suspects to come back and pick up an abandoned van.
19-year-old Kevin Parrott and 20-year-old Robert Ramey were arrested.
Some neighbors say they understand why the victim didn't open her door.
They say a lot of people knock on doors around there with different things.
Police say Parrott and Ramey have long criminal histories for their age.
Both have been cited several times for theft.
Now, some neighbors say, they'll be more aware of what's going on in the area.
Police found some stolen property when they took the two men into custody.
