Weather permitting, the concrete patching phase of the construction project on N-2 through Lincoln is set to be completed this week, according to the Nebraska Department of Roads.

This work prepared the road surface for the next phase which will begin early next week. Constructors, Inc., of Lincoln, Nebraska, will begin milling the roadway and replacing with new asphalt followed by installing permanent pavement markings.  The milling, asphalt and pavement marking phase will be fully completed in staged segments along N-2.

Constructors, Inc., will begin this phase by closing the segment from 27th St. to Old Cheney Road, both eastbound and westbound, from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Monday night through Friday night, with single lane closures on weekends.  Updates will be provided to the public as intermittent closures occur.  The project is anticipated to be completed by this fall.

The Department of Roads’ project manager is Brian Schoen of Lincoln.  Motorists are urged to watch for detour signs and as always, drive safely through construction zones.
