Youth Diagnosed With Influenza A At UNL Event

The University Of Nebraska says a youth attending a conference on city campus was diagnosed on June 24, 2009 with Influenza A.

The state lab is testing to determine if it is H1N1 Flu, and results won't be known for at least 24 hours. The individual is isolated and receiving medical attention.

UNL will continue to monitor the situation and keep faculty/staff updated as needed via e-mail.

Please remember to practice proper cough etiquette and good hand washing. Because of the mild symptoms of H1N1, treatment is the same as seasonal flu.

Several cases have been confirmed in Nebraska but there is no immediate impact on UNL, its community or operations.
