Danielle DasilvaDanielle DaSilva joined the KLKN team as a multimedia journalist in May 2025, accepting her first full-time position in broadcast news!

This is her first time in the Midwest, and she’s enjoying the welcoming spirit of the people of Lincoln and embracing what she sees as a city with both big-city and small-town vibes. She is looking forward to doing what she does best: telling impactful stories!

Prior to moving to Nebraska, she lived her entire life in New York City — from Long Island to Manhattan.

Danielle earned a bachelor’s degree in media studies with a minor in communications from Queens College.

She interned at Bronxnet, a local station in the Bronx, as well as ABC7 in NYC, where she worked in their 7 On Your Side department, assisting viewers with consumer complaints.

Danielle’s passion for journalism dates back to when she was a little girl, always questioning and enquiring.

Her mother jokes that as a 6-year-old, Danielle would interrupt the adults to ask questions and give her opinions.

After graduating, Danielle developed her communication skills by working as a substitute teacher and retirement counselor, but she never gave up on her dream of becoming a news reporter.

Over the last year, she became an independent journalist, producing stories that showed the complex diversities of New Yorkers.

She also volunteered as an interviewer for the NYC Department of Records, gathering the unique stories of New Yorkers to be used to diversify the department’s archives for historical and research purposes.

Danielle is looking forward to continuing learning about Lincoln and pursuing her personal mission to inform and empower others!
