The University of Nebraska’s Department of Athletics announced its new way of selling tickets today, called Big Red ReplyBuy.

Senior Vice President of Partnerships and Strategy of ReplyBuy and UNL alumni Brandon O’Halloran said it’s a great way to cater to fans while also using the instantaneous technology of smart phones.

Here’s how it works: You sign up for text alerts for tickets, then when tickets come available, you’ll get a text.

To reserve your seat, just send a message back…and a ticket will be sent to your smart phone.

You can then bring your phone to the game to have it scanned.

It’s a convenience fans say they can get on board with.

Seating is based on a first come first serve basis.

Your seat could be from a coach who didn’t need extras, a recruit who didn’t show or the visiting team that didn’t fill their quota.

Nebraska has seven home games this year.
