1 man in critical condition after multi-vehicle crash on I-80

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Authorities say one man was taken to the hospital after a crash involving several vehicles on Interstate 80.

The crash happened Thursday morning near the Nebraska Crossing outlet mall.

The Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office told Channel 8 as many as five vehicles were involved in the crash, including a tanker truck that overturned.

One man was taken to an Omaha hospital in critical condition. Officials say he is expected to survive his injuries.

The left westbound lane of I-80 is expected to be closed until Thursday afternoon as crews clean up the scene.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

This was the second major crash to occur on I-80 Thursday morning.
