Ten cases of COVID-19 have been linked to Smart Chicken in Waverly, health officials said Friday.
In total, 192 Lancaster County residents who have tested positive for the coronavirus have been associated with Smithfield Foods in Crete. Of those, 112 are employees and 80 are family members or close contacts. Nine cases – six employees and three close contacts – have been linked to the Smithfield facility in Lincoln.
Of Lancaster County’s 530 total cases, 41% have been linked to meat packing facilities.
The county’s positivity rate is 9.2%.
