10-day streak broken, COVID death in Lancaster County

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — After 10 days with no fatalities, Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department (LLCHD) announces a death in the community.
The individual has been identified as a woman in her 60s who was hospitalized. This brings our total deaths to 222.

LLCHD also announced 62 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the community total to 28,670.
More than 14,700 people have recovered from the virus, with more than 106,800 vaccines administered. Lancaster County is expected to receive a total of 8,200 doses this week.
This week’s positivity rate is 20.8%.
Sixteen COVID patients are currently hospitalized (13 from Lancaster County). One patient is on a ventilator.
