12-year-old girl stole DoorDash driver’s vehicle in north Lincoln, police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A 12-year-old girl drove off with a DoorDash driver’s vehicle in north Lincoln on Friday, police say.

Around 5:30 p.m., a 37-year-old woman left her vehicle running near 28th Street and Fletcher Avenue while finishing a DoorDash delivery.

When she got back to the vehicle, she saw a 12-year-old girl driving away, police said.

Officers were able to track the vehicle using the DoorDash app and later found it near 27th and Vine streets.

The girl parked the car and tried to run away from officers, who caught up and took her into custody, according to police.

The 12-year-old girl was referred on suspicion of theft by receiving and obstructing a police officer.
